Will I lose control under hypnosis?

If you don’t want to be hypnotised, you won’t be. Once you are, you aren’t a robot or puppet under the control of the hypnotherapist. At all times you have full control of yourself.

I’ve heard that not everyone can be hypnotised. What If I can’t?

Like all things, people vary. However, modern techniques enable everyone to be hypnotised and, with practice, improve how easily they can allow themselves to drift into the hypnotic state.

Is it true that only weak minded people can be hypnotised?

Some may argue the exact opposite. Being hypnotised makes use of a range of mental skills, including communication, concentration, visualisation, imagination, and mind-body connection.

What can hypnotherapy be used for?

Hypnotherapy can be used as treatment for a long list of physical and mental health conditions. Take a look at our list of services and follow the links for more information or contact us.

What about stage hypnotism? Is hypnotherapy like that?

Stage hypnotism is entertainment. In the same way that entertainment wrestling isn’t Olympic wrestling, it is not representative of hypnotherapy. Someone under hypnosis maintains free-will.

Is hypnotherapy scientifically proven?

Numerous studies have found that hypnotherapy is effective, for numerous conditions, and changes in brain activity during hypnosis can be seen using brain scanning technologies.

Is it possible to be stuck in the trance state?

No. No one ever has. If the hypnotherapist stop speaking (e.g. disconnected zoom session), you’d simply return to your normal state. If you were very tired, you might fall asleep for a while.

Do hypnotherapist require specific qualifications?

Absolutely. Our hypnotherapists are fully qualified, recognised by the industry professional body, and fully insured to provide hypnotherapy services.

Will I reveal all my secrets when I’m hypnotised?

Most treatments don’t involve talking under hypnosis. If your treatment does, or you choose to talk during hypnosis, you maintain the same free-will that allows you to withhold information or lie.

Is being in a hypnotic state unnatural?

No. You probably go into some level of hypnotic state every week, maybe every day. ‘Zoning out’ while driving or watching TV, daydreaming, slipping into the scene of a book are all levels of hypnotic state.

Is hypnosis like sleep? Do I lose awareness of what’s going on?

No. In fact, quite the opposite. During sleep, your mind and body are fully relaxed, other than life support functions. During hypnotherapy your mind is calm but actively engaged in your treatment.

Can treatment be provided remote / COVID-safe?

Yes, we can provide your treatment to you, in the comfort of your own home, via Zoom or similar. All you need is a computer or phone and stable internet connection.
